There are plenty of opportunities to strengthen your skills, network, and gain a foundation in your job search. Each career center & one-stop provides services to help facilitate your job search.
There are 3 Career Centers in Erie County. They each provide similar services and have very friendly staff that will help you if you have any questions. I’d recommend going to all three if you can. I’ve had times where I learned a great tip at one that the others didn’t know about, and if it wasn’t for someone that went to more than one, people would have missed out on this great tip. Here is a Map from the NYSDOL for all One-Stops and Department of Labor center’s in New York State.
NYS Department of Labor
The Department of Labor not only has unemployment insurance orientations at the the center on Transit Rd. in Williamsville, but it also hosts a networking club that meets twice a week: Tues. 11:30-1230 & Thur 2:30-3:30 (they cover the same topics so it’s only necessary to attend one). The center has a friendly staff, computers, job postings, and flyers with resume and cover letter tips.
ECC One Stop
The ECC One-Stop on Abbott Rd. in Orchard Park provides a number of different services as well. They offer Free GED Classes, job postings, Microsoft Office training, career counselors, workshops, On-the-job training services, and many more. You must attend an orientation to use most of these services. A career counselor will be assigned to you at the orientation.

Buffalo Employment and Training Center (BETC)
Downtown you can find the Buffalo Employment & Training Center. They offer a lot of the same services as the ECC One-Stop such as resume & cover letter help, networking clubs, free use of fax/copiers and will even mail your job based correspondences. Here you also have to attend an orientation to use most of their services.
